Campfire Stories – Our Motivation
At Campfire Stories, we believe that every life holds stories worth telling. The greatest adventures are often not those found in history books, but those lived by ordinary people—our parents, grandparents, friends, neighbours and even ourselves.
Through books such as Boys Will Be Boys, Fun in the Sun, Scoundrels, Scatterlings & Scholars, Blombos Tales, Tales from Ngamiland and others, my aim is not only to entertain, but also to inspire. I hope these stories encourage readers—especially young people—to put pen to paper and record their own memories, adventures, mishaps and life lessons before they are forgotten and lost forever.
Every family has colourful characters, every community has unforgettable personalities, and every person has moments of humour, courage, heartbreak and triumph that deserve to be preserved. You do not have to be a famous author to write a worthwhile story. You simply need curiosity, honesty and the courage to begin.
If these books inspire just one young person to write about their own life, their family, their friends or the remarkable people around them, then I will have achieved something truly worthwhile. Today's memories become tomorrow's history, and every great story begins with someone deciding to tell it.
Tell your story. Preserve your memories. Inspire the next generation.
